Avery Grace is growing up too fast & Michelle is running a mini!
Hi. It’s been a little while since my last post. Haha! Andy and some of you might be shocked that I’m actually writing. Guess it is about time I finally contribute to the family blog. I’m not sure that I’ll be able to keep up with Andy. Actually I’m sure I won’t be able to, but here goes my attempt to write at least some!
Today I took Avery to the Dr. because believe it or not our baby, I mean now toddler, is almost 18 months old. Avery was proud to show off her walking, dance and vocal skills, but wasn’t such a fan of the two shots she received. She is growing steadlly, but we do have to laugh at her “stats” a little: 10% in weight (21 lbs), 50% in length (31.75 inches) and 90% in head circumference! No concerns and we’re so thankful she’s healthy and developing well.
Another piece of news is that this summer and fall I have been training for my first mini-marathon for Team Neighborlink this coming Saturday, October 29. That’s 13.1 miles for you non-runners. My college friend/former Ft.Wayne roomie, Christin, and I are running in Muncie where our other good college friend, Erin, lives. Erin was supposed to run with us too, but is now unable to do so due to an upcoming knee surgery. You might wonder why I’m up for this crazy idea? I’m running because I’m appreciative of the health I have today and body that lets me run, the alone time my practice runs have given me to think & pray, I have a crush on the E.D. at Neighborlink :) and because I hope by running I can help generate more awareness and funds for Neighborlink. Perhaps you want to join me in this? Not that you have to run too, but you could encourage me in my miles by making a donation to Neighborlink (see the link below) or donating to a favorite charity of your choice. So far I have gotten up to 11.5 miles on my longest run, so I think I can do this even though I’m a little nervous about how I’ll feel afterward and how cold it’s supposed to be Saturday morning. I’ll have to post again after the race to let you know I survived. Ready or not, Muncie mini here I come!
